Weekly entry

So I'm actually not supposed to be online ... as a number of people at school already know. But I was a good girl today and finished reading Bio for next week and most of Agama which I'll have to re-read ... but yes. Mama let me online since it's a weekend. Yayzz.

Watched CSI yesterday ... the Vegas one? With the whole miniature killer plot? Yeah. Really freaky. And now I'm curious. Where is Sara? Well, I'm here, but I'm definitely not the one Grissom's lookin' for. Whoops. xD

Sukantara was today. I got two points. Maybe three. Dunno. But yeah. I'm bad at jumping and running. Throwing stuff I can do with pleasure. :p Other than that, there was photoshoot today for prefects and ed board. Prefects' shoot was a nightmare. But not as bad as last year's with blazing hot sun thrown into the combo. Ed board was more sticky than anything because by this point the sun was at that strange point in the sky that makes you want to scrub your skin with bleach to get rid of the layer of humidity.

Then we took seperate pictures for segments; everyone was fighting over the turtle pond. So Shasha and I went off hunting for a spot and found a nice tree next to the hall with stringy vine-stuff hanging on the branches. We thought it was pretty, so we had our picture there. We named the tree Burkley. Because it looks like a Burkley.

Bits and pieces.

All this new fandom stuff is coming at a completely inconvenient time. >_< SPM, dangit! Or at least until after March test. I'll wait then.

Anyway, school is strangely empty. Wait, scratch that. Class is strangely empty. Laksh and Iffah didn't come (again) so everything was strangely quiet. Had class with CLP in the morning ... she said something about Alysha being a bad K.D. 'cause she was absent today. Which induced many WTF??? faces. :|

Then had Mr. C. I still don't understand what he's saying. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I just really don't get his accent. *flails* Recess was normal. I drew a lot. During duty. Mostly Avatar fanart which I am too embarrassed to post online. Hee. BM was normal, then Add Maths, which was kinda refreshing. Nothing like integration to kick the brain into gear.

Prefects' orientation is starting to get to me. Everywhere I look, juniors! I'm tempted to give them all free signatures so I don't have to think of questions. It'll all be over next week. Grr.

And here're a ouple of drawings to look at. Meet Vamp-Boy, Were-Cub and Hybrid Girl!

Epic awesomeness anyone?

So, I've just finished my week-long Avatar marathon. Well, it ain't a marathon really, more like watch-whenever-I-have-time-over-the-course-of-a-week. But yes! I've watched it all!

Now all I have to do is wait for the next episode to air. It's late, because of ... well, the writers 'strike. But the writers' strike's over! Sooo, new episode!

Soon.

Oh yeah, and a new Gossip Girl episode too.

Butbutbut. I think I've just recruited myself into the fandom. Avatar is FUN. I've been looking for a fantasy book with awesome characters and wicked plot twists, and I've found it in TV SHOW FORM. Which is even more fun, because I get to WATCH all the awesome-ness. Which in turn makes me so happy, I could do a happy dance right now.

Anyhow, for anyone who's really in the dark right now and don't subscribe to Nickelodeon, Avatar's a cartoon show. Which is somewhat anime-ish? But whatever, the art is pretty and nobody runs around with eyes too big for their bodies. It's about this alternate dimension where the world is split into four kingdoms, air, water, earth and fire. The avatar is a person who controls all four elements, and is responsible for keeping the balance in the world.

But the latest avatar, Aang, is just a little kid. He's scared out of his mind, so he puts himself into a hundred year-long hibernation - waking up only to find that the world is at war. So he sets off to learn to control the elements so that he can defeat the evil Fire Lord Ozai and save the world, etc. with his gang of friends (at the beginning, his pet bison Abba, water-bender Katara, her brother Sokka and a flying lemur, Momo).

Only problem is, everyone's out to get him. Like, for real. The fire nation is out looking for him to hold him prisoner, angry citizens blame him for disappearing for a hundred years and a shamed fire nation prince, Zuko is hunting him down to 'restore his honour'. Not only that, but he has to learn to control all four elements by summertime ... which is less than a year away.

In other words, pretty heavy stuff.

It's got everything I could ever ask for! Powerful elements, classic hero, fun best friends, cute animals, gut-clenching plot, hilarious-to-laugh-at anti-hero ... GAH, I'm so happy. ;;_;;

But just for the record, I have no ships as of yet. Aang and Katara is cute, but I find it a little ... weird (and I find Katara annoying), Zuko and Katara is all kinds of wicked cool, but he's an awful boyrfriend and she's still annoying -shrugs- ... but heyyyy. Sokka and Suki are definitely going to happen, and they're fun to watch. Whee, I think I've found it.

And I know this is silly, because everyone's drowning in work and can't do much online, but if you get the chance, ---> watch it <---. Seriously. I need someone to talk to about it. :]

The weekly update.

School has swallowed me whole. Everything's starting to weigh on me ... but mostly just Ms. T asking about drama and editorial board and debate (which I'm not even interested in!) everytime she sees me. I've taken to ducking whenever she walks past. xD

Other than that, I have no life outside school. So in a bid to clutch at whatever outside-world thoughts I can, here's my current To-Buy-To-Read/Reading List.

# Wintersmith - Terry Pratchett
# Come a Stranger - Cynthia Voigt
# Snakehead - Anthony Horowitz
# Night Rise - Anthony Horowitz
# Sleepwalker - Robert Muchamore
# Thieves Till We Die - Stephen Cole
# New Moon - Stephenie Meyer

Yup. Doesn't mean I'll go buy them soon ... I'm waiting for the MPH warehouse sale, and I'm borrowing New Moon from Aisya after the March tests are over. No more of that whole 'to buy or not to buy' dilemma. xD

Upside down

help.

I'm barely ready for SPM, and I'm panicking about universities. I don't know how to make a portfolio.
It's all wrong! I'm supposed to be scared of SPM first, not the other way around! I'm scared that I may be a big fish in this pond, but the pond I'm going to might have bigger fish that could eat me up and swallow me whole.

Of rats and other furry creatures

Molly decided to celebrate the Year of The Rat by bringing one home today.

She was sitting calmly behind one of Papa's bikes, just waiting to be discovered. Mama saw it first, and went "Molly tangkap tikus!" and she happily picked up the (dead) rat and scurried out of the front door, her job done. I bet she was pretty excited. "Mama, mama, look what I caught! :D"

I don't want to think of where she brought the rat afterwards.

Anyway, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

Careful on the oranges, you might get sick. And try not to celebrate like how Molly did. Poor rats. ^^;;

And here's a little sugar glider. Nothing to do with the new year, I just felt like drawing one. <3 I think I'll name her Pico.

Ahem.

Oh, human beings of the world.

When someone asks you to write down your name ... applying a club membership, for example ...

You are supposed to write your full name.

Not just, say, 'Lucy'. Because, dudette. You're not the only person in the entire world named Lucy.

Ps. There is no HU member named 'Lucy'. No offence is meant towards anyone named 'Lucy'.

Swaps

A lot of teacher-swapping going on at school. Kinda sad, mostly because we got the one whom Tarsha fondly names Cocky Little Potato (CLP). Which is sad. I told Mama and she said that I don't have to focus so much on that subject anyway. But still. I'm sad. :(

On the other hand, we got Mr. H for history, which is very cool.

Let me say that again.

Very cool.

Spent the day highlighting holidays into my planner. There were lessons, but not so much. Physics and Add Maths mostly. Mrs. Sh. went and wished Iffah happy Chinese new year. 'Cause Iffah looks Chinese and all. xD So cute.

Iffah now has a fear of the words 'trials' and 'SPM'. Just sneak up on here and whisper it in her ear, and watch her scream. >:3

In other news, prefect's orientation started today, and I'm sort of caught off-guard here. I don't know what to ask, and totally forgot about my idea of asking the juniours about themselves. So I'll do it after hols or something.

Now, I better go do the huge amount of typing that comes with long holidays, that is essays, ko-ku stuff and random writing.

Zeh Annual PJK Accident

Every year.

Every single year, since Form 1.

This year, it's my arm. Last year and the year before, my face. The year before that, just general clumsiness. And that first year, my head. xD

Yeah, so I'm in an arm sling. Or, was. I took it off so I can type this. Which is really awkward. 'Cause my arm is sticking out at a 90 degree angle so that I don't feel the weird pain. I can't seem to straighten it. My right arm is all slow, and my left is tired from doing all the work. Poor thing. xD

Basically, it was yet another PJK incident. Ling Shin accidentally ran into me while my arm was outstretched, then next thing I know, it hurts like hell and I'm curled up on the ground, in shock. Felt weird, reminded me of back when I was eight and fell off my bike.

I had to go to the sick-bay after that, and Evelyn, Mina and Xiu Jong started getting into an argument about how best to fix me up. I was dusty, sweaty and teary. And very emotional. I started laughing about how they were all squabbling over my arm, then I started crying. Then they argued about whether I was crying or laughing, and that sent me into another fit of giggly sobs.

They finally settled on tying a sling around my arm and my neck. My name's going down in the record since that they binded my arm. What a way to leave my name at the school. :D

And Ling Shin, IT'S OK. :) It's just a little sprain, it's not your fault. <3 style="font-style: italic;">Sara-who-is-getting-used-to-these-kind-of-things
