HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHEREN!
Have a good one. Being 17 is fun. :)
Minus SPM shenanigans, lah.
The torture that the evil villains come up with are ingeniously awful. Especially this one in particular. SPOILERS, people, for those who are eager to read but haven't had the chance to buy it yet. Basically, Alex has gotten himself into a nice, tough situation, as always. And I've always sighed at villains who don't just shoot the hero and burn the remains to be done with it. But this guy really made sense. He wouldn't kill Alex, why?
Simple. Instead, he would cut him open, removing his kidney, selling it on the black market. He would live through the operation easily enough. Then when the time came, they will remove both his eyes. He'll be blind, but still alive. He could do without his pancreas, followed slowly, one by one, by the rest of his functioning organs. And throughout all of this, his blood will be pumped out, leaving just enough to keep him going. And finally, when he comes close to the end of his tether, the prize: His heart. Worth a million pounds. Naturally, he is worth more alive than dead.
And when he finally kicks the bucket, he'll ... have the satisfaction of knowing that he saved a few lives in the process.
Reading that stuff sent chills down my spine. xD So YES. Read the book. Read the series itself, just so you can reach the seventh book. And buy the paperback edition of the seventh, 'cause there's a bonus chapter at the end that explains quite a few things.

I finished reading Snakehead, the latest Alex Rider book. And I gotta say, to Mr. Anthony Horowitz: Man, you're not going to give this kid a break, are you? xD I mean, he's gone on seven missions in the past eight months. He's eluded death for like a bajillion times. But I do admit; it doesn't get old.

In other news, prefects step down on the 7th of July. As much as I'll feel empty for a while, I can't wait. <3
