Dangerous places :P

This post contains information which shouldn't be read by people who are uncomfortable discussing reproduction. Just a heads up.

The Internetz is a very dangerous place indeed. Especially when it comes down to what everyone refers to as 'free speech'. I just got back from a very heated discussion on several message boards, and felt like putting this out there.

By the way, I'm a lurker in the land of the train-wreck which is what used to be a pretty cool Twilight-Fandom. I'm a little sad that everyone's turning on each other and shooting amongst themselves, but what're you going to do about it? The Twilight Lexicon decided to, uh, prohibit any criticizing of the series, which resulted in their site getting hacked into. I do feel sorry for them, but heck, they should have seen this coming. This is an angry fandom we're talking about.

Ooh, found this on the IMDb boards:
[in response to an argument about just how Bella can get pregnant when Edward clearly shouldn't be able to reproduce]
"...Unless the [vampire] venom did some freaky stuff to his jizz which would just be weird. Can you imagine if the venom turned his little swimmers into vampire sperm? Oh what a funny place Edward's testicles must be!"
- craaaazzzyally

... I LOL'ed. xD

Sooo, moving on. The first Pendragon book has been made into a graphic novel! :D The cover looks lame and cheesy, but I read the first 35 pages, and it doesn't look bad. The drawings are nice, although Courtney is nothing like how I imagine her and Uncle Press looks ... Native American. But Mark looks exactly like how I pictured him, so I'm pretty much satisfied.

Today was an OK day. Except for the fact that Pn. B have sold us off to the CLP. We wailed and we begged and we whined, but to no avail. We will be having class with the CLP on Monday. And I don't care if this proves 'dedication', etc. etc., you can't be of any help when everyone hates your guts. Seriously. Maybe it would help if you stopped threatening to leave us in the lurch and just do that already. Just ... argh. D:

Papers!

That's the exam schedule. It's tiny, but I'm sure you guys don't want to know the details, already have them or just don't have to. :P
But, you can pretty much tell how my November is going to go. Blue is for languages. Pink is mathematics. Green's for the sciences. And purple is for anything else (i.e. Sejarah and P. Islam.)

In fandom-news, I've finished reading the chapter-by-chapter review of Breaking Dawn. This is because I refuse to buy the book itself, and I pretty much don't care about the SPOILERS. But y'know what? This book is incredible. It is so full of fantastic WEIRD that I can't help but stare at it feeling awed/disturbed. I mean ... well, you'll have to read it for yourself. I'll just say that the plot is reminiscent of badly-written fanfiction. But, like I said in my previous post, not at all boring. Nope.

But anyway, to all those Twilight-cynics of the world, here's a link to the most hilarious chapter-by-chapter book reviews on the Internet: click here for the lolz <--- WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS AND FOUL LANGUAGE. PROCEED WITH CAUTION. And you don't have to be a cynic to read it. After all, a true fan would be one who would have the guts to laugh at this kind of stuff.

In Real Life news, I think I may have Hand Foot and Mouth Disease. O_o;; Hanna's been having it for the past few days, and I'm starting to show symptoms, i.e. sores/blisters on hands and feet, sore throat, ulcers. But, y'know, it usually only affects kids and babies, so ... my immune system should be able to fight it off.

Should. D: Immune system? D'you ... d'you hear me? You should be able to. You must. I mean ... I hope it's just a minor case thingy. But the Wikipedia page on it scares me a little. Nazim and Mira are having it too, I think. It's semi-contagious. Should we be allowed in school? :\

Ah well it isn't confirmed that we have it anyway ... I'll just chug some vitamin C down. *runs off looking for oranges*

Normality.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IFFAH
ol' buddy ol' pal.
*throws rubbery cicak* :D
I know you're not a pink freak anymore, but what the heck.

In other news, HAZE upon us! Grab your gas masks!

In other other news, school today was fun. Said toodloo to the moral students, who went to FRIM. The signed this really long cloth banner thing. It's supposed to go into the Malaysian Record Book or whatever. Something about longest merdeka-happy banner ever. It would be a lot more cooler if they let everyone write in different languages, to display the DIVERSE RACES in the country. And, not limiting us to really cheesy phrases that made me feel guilty and not at all patriotic.

Then we watched some cheerleading vids and gymrama vids that we did during PJ with Cik F. That was funny. Then we watched a student drama of Puteri Hang Li Po during BM. Recess was uneventful. Chemistry was ... normal. And there was no Physics, so Nazia, Iffah, Sophie and I bonded with the two trainee teachers.

I'm posting a lot lately. Hmmm.

EDIT: Found this while surfing the net:

"Just got back from Borders, where they took back my book [Breaking Dawn] with no problem. Got into a discussion with the cashier about how I was the 15th(!!!) person to bring my book back today. Seems like many customers felt that SM was not true to her characters and her self created Twilight world, and are calling foul." -- quoted by julian_black on LiveJournal.com

The tagline for this is "Don't Burn It, Return It."
And I'm all, duuuuude. This looks like serious business. (cue Joker-reel saying "Why So Serious?") I know the ending wasn't the best in the world, but ... I'm wondering what Stephenie Meyer's got to say for herself now.

EDIT2: I read up more on the DEMON CHILD and I can't take it, THERE'S SO MUCH BLOOD. Ah well Sara, this is what happens when you ask book writers for gory, bloody endings. Avatar wouldn't give it to you, so ... eh, well the DEMON CHILD decided to oblige. Egghyuk. At least it's not boring. Completely weirded like palatypus crap, but nope, not boring.

Oddity of Ends

I post too slow, I think. So many eventful things in life, so little blog posts! I didn't even talk about My Epic Weekend. So I will, just 'cause it was the most epic fun I've had in terms of fangirling. First, I watched Dark Knight (cue "Oooh" sound). Then, I finished reading Pendragon: Raven Rise (cue "Aaah" sound). Then, I went online, still reeling from the awesome and shock that was the book, only to find that the Avatar: The Legend of Aang finale had already shown in the US and had been posted online (cue whistles and applause). It was the best cartoon finale I've ever watched in EVER.

Seriously, it was like an overdose of Good Stuff. I was high for most of the weekend and Monday. It was so good, my dreams consisted of me being a Traveler from the Pendragon books, having to hide away some secret book. Most of the dream consisted of me actually able to make decisions, as if I was awake. Shasha was in my dream. xD And Loor, from the Pendragon books. Grampa dude from the Ben10 cartoon was there. And River Phoenix, dressed up as he was in Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade. Georgina from Gossip Girl made an appearance (she was in kahoots with the evil bad guy, who was Saint Dane - also from the Pendragon books). And ... I could've sworn Prince Zuko was somewhere lurking in the background. Can't be too sure. Oh, and the rock used in last year's drama team was essential to our secret mission. Then there was a nightclub, and Pn. Alainal. O_o Yes. That was the weirdest part, actually. And there was dancing. Lots of dancing and neon lights.

One of the weirdest dreams ever. Even tops the one I had two years ago about Batman and Borders (the book store) and the mysterious "Jagged S".

Wow, typing all this out has made me feel loads better. :) Because there were some events of this morning that managed to kick my spirit around again. Seriously, I have to give it a tougher skin.

Hear that? Tougher skin. Which is exactly the reason why I was miserable. Or rather, the lack of it developing. Making no sense? This is intentional. Remember Wormtail? From Harry Potter? Yeah. He wasn't a very nice guy. :( I feel sorry for Sirius, James and Lupin. Poor things. They were like BFFs, but now they're BFFs - 1.

Or, they're nothing at all, 'cause they're dead. Because JK Rowling killed 'em all.

Ouch. Tragic.

It's nearly ...

The AVATAR FINALE is online.
I can't believe it's ending.
Should I watch it all now, or just half or not at all?
...
I think I'll watch just half. Prolongs the roller coaster ride.

Real geek-moment with added panic.

I just went on deviantArt, and one of the users was warning all Avatards that the Sozin's Comet Juniour Novel is coming out this month. Which means, anyone who buys this book will know THE ENDING of Avatar: The Legend of Aang. Which is NOT COOL because then people who are total spoiler-haters (eg. me) will get spoiled.

So, I thought it wasn't that big a problem ... the book hadn't come out yet, right? Right.

Wrong.

I went on iMDb, and the book is out. D: People on the Avatar board were discussing it. And now I'm scared of getting spoiled. Ohhhh noooo.

Aw man, now I'm all paranoid of the Internet.

Sorry, I just had to get this off my chest. Grarrh.

Exams, then geek-moment.

Grarrh, this is the worst exam season ever. I got diarrhea during Add Maths and gave up with half an hour to go. I just ... don't know how to apply things. I'm alright with the exercises, I'm the first few to answer during class, but during exams I feel as if I'm missing something important. Blech.

Can't wait for this to end. I've got nine books waiting for me, all bought from the MPH clearance sale. xD And I ended up reading Maximum Ride 4 when the fam went to visit the sungai last week. It was an OK book, but I ended up being all skeptic about (SPOILERS) how the flock keep getting powers and Max is in this whole "I just want us to be friends, but DON'T YOU LOOK AT ANYTHING IN A SKIRT" thing with Fang, who really needs a break, poor boy. (END SPOILERS)

And I'm trying to load Gossip Girl. Which is stuck. Dang.

And I can wait for Avatar to air in July. In fact ... maybe I should order the DVD? All the awesomeness of element-bending fight sequences and squee-worthy character interaction easily accessed in a compact disk which I can watch at anytime in my geeky, SPM-spinning life!

Now there's an idea.

Pretty fluffy clouds

Sokka: Pretty clouds.
Zuko: Yeah. Fluffy.
---
Zuko:
Sometimes clouds have two sides. A dark and light ... and a silver lining in between. It's like a silver sandwich. So when life seems hard, take a bite out of the silver sandwich.
Sokka: Maybe we haven't failed after all!
Zuko: That's the spirit! I can't believe that worked. I didn't even know what I was saying.
Sokka: No, what you said made no sense at all.
---
Zuko: I had a girlfriend. Her name was Mai.
Sokka: That gloomy girl who sighs a lot?
Zuko: Yeah.
Sokka: My first girlfriend turned into the moon.
Zuko: That's rough, buddy.
- AtLA, The Boiling Rock Part 1

Seriously, these two prodeuce the cutest character moments. Man, I really really love this show.

Your complimentary weekly update.

School's pretty blah lately. People keep being absent, and CLP lectured us on how it's important to not miss class when we go to uni ... I'm not worried for myself, since that I've got a crazy obsession with not being absent. But more steadfast people than me have switched ideas, so here's to hoping the obsession with never missing a day continues.

Then Pn. B lectured us on getting money together for class layout. And the people who keep being absent, because she wants their excuses and whatnot ... it's crazy, every morning it's the same thing. In the end, I just turn my brain off, I can't stand to listen anymore.

On the other hand, there's been a lot of Avatar news. The show's ending in July, which is a long way away. I don't mind, prolong the days till SPM plskthx. But the trailer looks so cool! It's only 2 minutes long, but it's like throwing a hungry dog a miserable little bone, the way the fandom are reacting. Then there's stuff about the Twilight movie, which is partially very amusing and partially kinda suffocating. I don't feel right belonging to a fandom consisting of 95% females. At least with Avatar, it's half and half.

I just realised how boring this post is. Hmmm. Have some Jasper/Alice love. They're my favourite couple in Twilight. Bella and Edward can go on dodging her eventual vampirism, as long as we get more Jasper/Alice goodness. <3Brush credits can be found on my DeviantArt page.

The hols-cutting update

CPU has officially kicked the bucket, and Papa just realised that his eldest does not know what 'back-upping your hard drive' is. xD So he explained and bought me a pen drive so that I won't have to sit around whining about the half-dead computer not letting me finish my work. Acu showed me that I can name the pen drive (its birth name was KINGSTON) so I've named it JAQUE. It is officially asexual. If I refer to it by gender, it's purely for convenience.

As for the CPU, Uncle James took it, rescued the hard drive and is bringing a brand spankin' new one over in a few days. So, yes. I won't have to worry about my elderly CPU anymore. Alright!

In other news, drama is going quite ... OK. We'll have to work hard till the end.

I've done a lot of drawing lately. Mostly Avatar fanart. Even if my scanner was connected to a computer right now, there would be no art-dumpage because well ... I'm always a little stingy with fanart. The last time I drew characters over so obsessively was back in my Harry Potter phase. But Avatar is so much fun to draw. The fire nation kids in particular. And Katara's hair-loops. xD

Enjoy what's left of the hols, everyone.

Bits and pieces.

All this new fandom stuff is coming at a completely inconvenient time. >_< SPM, dangit! Or at least until after March test. I'll wait then.

Anyway, school is strangely empty. Wait, scratch that. Class is strangely empty. Laksh and Iffah didn't come (again) so everything was strangely quiet. Had class with CLP in the morning ... she said something about Alysha being a bad K.D. 'cause she was absent today. Which induced many WTF??? faces. :|

Then had Mr. C. I still don't understand what he's saying. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I just really don't get his accent. *flails* Recess was normal. I drew a lot. During duty. Mostly Avatar fanart which I am too embarrassed to post online. Hee. BM was normal, then Add Maths, which was kinda refreshing. Nothing like integration to kick the brain into gear.

Prefects' orientation is starting to get to me. Everywhere I look, juniors! I'm tempted to give them all free signatures so I don't have to think of questions. It'll all be over next week. Grr.

And here're a ouple of drawings to look at. Meet Vamp-Boy, Were-Cub and Hybrid Girl!

Epic awesomeness anyone?

So, I've just finished my week-long Avatar marathon. Well, it ain't a marathon really, more like watch-whenever-I-have-time-over-the-course-of-a-week. But yes! I've watched it all!

Now all I have to do is wait for the next episode to air. It's late, because of ... well, the writers 'strike. But the writers' strike's over! Sooo, new episode!

Soon.

Oh yeah, and a new Gossip Girl episode too.

Butbutbut. I think I've just recruited myself into the fandom. Avatar is FUN. I've been looking for a fantasy book with awesome characters and wicked plot twists, and I've found it in TV SHOW FORM. Which is even more fun, because I get to WATCH all the awesome-ness. Which in turn makes me so happy, I could do a happy dance right now.

Anyhow, for anyone who's really in the dark right now and don't subscribe to Nickelodeon, Avatar's a cartoon show. Which is somewhat anime-ish? But whatever, the art is pretty and nobody runs around with eyes too big for their bodies. It's about this alternate dimension where the world is split into four kingdoms, air, water, earth and fire. The avatar is a person who controls all four elements, and is responsible for keeping the balance in the world.

But the latest avatar, Aang, is just a little kid. He's scared out of his mind, so he puts himself into a hundred year-long hibernation - waking up only to find that the world is at war. So he sets off to learn to control the elements so that he can defeat the evil Fire Lord Ozai and save the world, etc. with his gang of friends (at the beginning, his pet bison Abba, water-bender Katara, her brother Sokka and a flying lemur, Momo).

Only problem is, everyone's out to get him. Like, for real. The fire nation is out looking for him to hold him prisoner, angry citizens blame him for disappearing for a hundred years and a shamed fire nation prince, Zuko is hunting him down to 'restore his honour'. Not only that, but he has to learn to control all four elements by summertime ... which is less than a year away.

In other words, pretty heavy stuff.

It's got everything I could ever ask for! Powerful elements, classic hero, fun best friends, cute animals, gut-clenching plot, hilarious-to-laugh-at anti-hero ... GAH, I'm so happy. ;;_;;

But just for the record, I have no ships as of yet. Aang and Katara is cute, but I find it a little ... weird (and I find Katara annoying), Zuko and Katara is all kinds of wicked cool, but he's an awful boyrfriend and she's still annoying -shrugs- ... but heyyyy. Sokka and Suki are definitely going to happen, and they're fun to watch. Whee, I think I've found it.

And I know this is silly, because everyone's drowning in work and can't do much online, but if you get the chance, ---> watch it <---. Seriously. I need someone to talk to about it. :]

First, some fandom stuff ...

Yes. I have to get these stuff off me first, before presenting the pic-load which is the birthday party. xD

Firstly ... I decided to try out my new pencil. Meet Fang. He's from the book series: Maximum Ride, by James Patterson. Drawn with my new pencil, inked, scanned then coloured in GIMP2.

I've never managed to draw a picture of him that I'm satisfied with, because, well, I just can't get him to look like how I picture him. And this time, I managed it! :D He's supposed to be wearing all black, silly little emo-brooding birdboy, but I didn't like the idea of playing with black and greys. So I gave him navy blue.

Now, another thing.

A Twilight-related thing.

I looked it up on the great and ever-informative Wikipedia (long live that blessed website xD) and here's what I got:

"Twilight is the time before sunrise or after sunset when sunlight scattered in the upper atmosphere illuminates the lower atmosphere and the surface of the Earth is between light and dark."

Haha. Kidding!

I looked up the actual book page, and I found a bit of what Stephenie Meyer is writing: Twilight from Edward's point of view. I read the preview chapter, and asdfghjkl. Why didn't she write this one first??? D: Edward's POV is so much more interesting than Bella's. *sulks* Sure, he's long-winded and bombastic, but I don't mind long-winded when it's interesting.

And anyway, I like to read about the rest of the Cullens. Edward hogs the spotlight, but of course. But all the little things about the other guys make me happy. xD

Hmm. So I may not really like the book. But I admit that the characters are interesting. So there. And I think I will buy New Moon, no matter how people say its boring. This way, I can lend it to all the other sorry people, who, like me, are too hesitant to buy the actual thing.

I will be doing everyone a favour! Yay. xD
