Interpersonal communication

My computer is fixed!
No more baby elephant computer monitor! Now it's a sleek flat screen.
I shall call it ... um. Shelly. Because it's flat like those strange discy shell things you find washed up on the beach.
Strange logic, but I just like the name Shelly.

So, I've been incredibly busy this week. Haha. What with college kicking off properly, I never really felt the absence of my baby elephant.

So. College is fun ... seriously. Of course nothing much has started and we've not much work so far ... but my classmates are fun to hang around with. In fact, we went to Sunway Pyramid on Wednesday ... had lunch at Delifrance. It's amazing how many discounts you can get with a student card. Had a very filling meal. John managed to save us from paying extra because of a technical error on the bill. Pening kepala over getting people to give in the right amount of change. Our tax came to RM12, it was insane.

Then we went ice-skating. I went back early so I didn't get to join them bowling. But I still had a blast ... haven't been skating in years!

Photo yanked from Carmen's blog.
So these are a few of us ... the ones who went skating anyway. A lot of people didn't go skating. xD No matter how much we tried to pujuk them. Anyway, left to right, Nigel, me, Suzuki, Azhar, John, Carmen, Fira and Joan. No, Nigel's not taking foundation with us, he just popped in to enjoy the skating. :P

Notice the blue gloves? I got a pair myself ... and I like them loads more than the ones I got years ago. They're cute! xD But I think the orange ones are nicer ... Michelle S. had an orange pair, really nice colour.

Also, I learnt how to skate backwards! It's all about shaking your butt. Yeah. O_o A bit awkward at first but got the hang of it. Kinda reversed into someone who was tying her boot on the ice-rink (no I have no idea why she is tying her boot on the ice rink) and fell on my butt. Which ached when I got up in the morning. xD

Regretting not bringing my camera. I could have taken photos of everyone. Argh!

On Thursday, went out with Nad, Aidil and Sophie. We were very hungry. xD I dunno why, we just had huge appetites that day. Sneaked hot dogs into the cinema, where we watched Talentime. The cinema was very empty. Sophie was blur during the dramatic scenes and spoiled the moment. Hahah. And we kept commenting on how the school students had no name tags and stuff. I think we annoyed all the other people in the hall.

Anyway, the movie was quite nice. Almost cried once. xD But the scene changes were kinda choppy and the ending ... potong steam. Yeah. But overall, not bad.

Going to watch the Cats musical tomorrow! Can't wait! :D

Mission accomplished, chap!

Went out with Nad, Hannah and Sophie yesterday. :D
Had teppanyaki for lunch, then basically lepak all over the place. I wanted to buy new clothes, but couldn't find anything really really nice, y'know? But had fun window-shopping anyway. Then Hannah said she would belanja us ice-cream, so to Baskin Robbins we went! Watched an episode of Wizards of Waverly Place on Hannah's iPod (I actually really enjoyed it. Haha. Cute story. I just wish they'd do away with the fake audience laughter, it kills a lot of the jokes.)

We also went to Borders, where Sophie met William Shakespeare.
...
Yeah, he's the same height as me. Uncanny!!

We told Hannah to get a facebook account.
Instead, she got a facelift.
"I'm BOOKFACE! :D"

We did a lot of bookshop-visiting. Hannah bought some Jonas Brothers biography thingy ... and Sophie won awards for Best Observation of Stubble on Celebrities. xD Nad bought The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I bought Lost For Words by Lorelei Mathias. Yeah, a romance. I wanted to find something written by a local writer, I don't care whether English or BM, but a story, y'know? But I couldn't find English fiction and the BM books ... um. Their synopsis scared me. As for Sophie ... she bought nail polish. Hehe.

Tried to catch her unawares. Candid shot. Y'know, weird facial expression, etc. But dang, Nad's too photogenic.
D:

Finished the day sitting in Coffee Bean. Ate some chicken pie and chicken puff for dinner. Felt good to go out with them. Been far too long. :) We thought of a movie, and Sophie wanted to karaoke, but ... I really enjoyed just lepaking with them.

Today I went for my driving ceramah. The classroom had little spray thingies to chase away the bad smell. Would have been nice if the perfume they used wasn't bad to begin with. Felt queasy the whole time I was there. D: But thank gosh, the speaker wasn't as boring as I expected. He was actually pretty funny. The youngest person in the class was 16, there to take his motorcycle license. The oldest was 34. I could tell which of the boys are fresh out of NS ... by their haircuts. Haha.

So, now I've got a book to study. Can go back anytime to take the computer test. :)

Hotel Adventure

PJ Hilton
After Prefect Lunch 2008.

*four of us are exploring the hotel just for kicks before going home*
*hop into elevator*

Me: Let's go to a random floor. Lucky number?
Liyana: 7!
Shumi: *reaches for 7 button*
Tarsha: No! Not 7! *hits 4 button*
-silence in lift-
Shumi: *words cannot express the look on her face* Tarsha, 4 is the number of death.

*Later on, on level 4*
*In hushed voices*

Me: There's nothing here.
Tarsha: Let's go back.
Shumi: *walks towards end of corridor*
Liyana: *won't stop giggling*
Me: Yeah, let's get back into the lift. And try number 7. We could end up in Hogwarts!
Shumi: Or Narnia.
*pause as idea sinks in*
All: Whoa.

Tarsha: What happens when somebody asks us who we are?
Me: We're tourists.
Tarsha: From India! You can be from Nepal.
Shumi: How about me?
Tarsha: *says something that sounds like roti canai*
Me: Say what?
Tarsha: It's a place. In India.
Me: Oh. Then Liyana can be from Korea!
Liyana: Me, Engilish, no speak! No!

We also visited the meeting room floor, where Tarsha panicked a little and told us to back off, because there're security cameras. Then we went to the swimming pool, but it was raining and some dude yelled at us to go back inside. xD And that was our magicall not-so-eventful hotel adventure. After prefect lunch, which was fun and very yummy. I'm gonna miss everyone ... I barely see most of them in school anymore.

Most likely not posting after this. Tood-loo, good luck to everyone facing SPM, STPM or university finals or what have you.

Normalcy

The past week has been pretty normal, nothing much to talk about. Went to a wedding on Sunday, and celebrated Papa's birthday yesterday.

Papa, Nazim, Hanna and I went to Petrosains this morning while Mama and Mira went shopping at Subang Parade. Took a couple of pictures, but nothing much. I've been through that place so many times, it's kinda lost it's charm. Nazim and Hanna bought these little growing dinosaur eggs from the gift shop and I got myself one of those make-it-yourself velociraptor kits. x) I have this thing for putting stuff together.

Then we went to Kinokuniya. I was looking for Come A Stranger by Cynthia Voigt, but they didn't have it. MPH doesn't have it either. And Borders' prices are ridiculous. So I'll have to wait. Instead, I bought Mad Dogs by Robert Muchamore. Which is awesome, because it's not set to sell in PJ for like, another three months. So, yay! :D

In other news, Nad got let back into Sri Aman. xD Talk about hectic. *throws drunk bunny plushie at Nad*

And now, I have a tag to fulfill. Next post, since that it's kinda long.
